Another piece of good news for folks living in Cyberjaya and surrounding townships. NSK will be setting up business in Cyberjaya by 2020. Yes, it’s going to be a while to wait but at least more retailers are paying attention to Cyberjaya now.

Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd and NSK Property Sdn Bhd has just signed the tenancy agreement which was held at Cyberview Resort & Spa on 9th October 2018 and was attended by representatives from Majlis Perbandaran Sepang, Cyberview Sdn Bhd and of course myself, as part of the media team.

NSK will be renting a 13-acre piece of land located at the centre of Cyberjaya from Setia Haruman for a period of fifteen (15) years. The 250,000 square feet hypermarket (probably the largest hypermarket in Cyberjaya at press time) is targeted to open for business in the last quarter of 2020 and will initially operate from 7am to midnight daily.

I was told that the new NSK hypermarket in Cyberjaya will cost about RM35 million to build and operate and will combine 2 concepts; retail and wholesale business, which is the first of it’s kind in Cyberjaya actually. They will cater to the folks living in Cyberjaya as well as to the neighbouring townships and local businesses. This hypermarket will offer a wide range of groceries, household items, fresh produce and products at affordable pricing to provide better savings for customers.

We chose to open our hypermarket in Cyberjaya,as we have full confidence on the rapid growth of Cyberjaya in the coming years. Our commitment to provide affordable pricing has always been our practice and we will continue to do the same in Cyberjaya!

– Mr C.B Lim, Executive Chairman, NSK

Mr. Lim also said that their hypermarket in Selayang and Kuchai Lama operates 24 hours and they believe there is a growing need to have 24-hour hypermarkets to meet the needs of the people who wants the flexibility of shopping at any hour of the convenience. He sees a possibility in Cyberjaya as well as there are may 24-hour facilities mushrooming here.

In his speech, Tuan Haji Ahmad Khalif Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal, Executive Chairman of Setia Haruman said that the opening of NSK hypermarket in Cyberjaya is yet another milestone as it is aligned with the growth and development of Cyberjaya’s ecosystem. He says that Cyberjaya has many amenities that cater to the needs of it’s community from education, sports and recreation, 24-hour outlets and more. With the opening of a public hospital and MRT in 2020 and 2022 respectively, he is confident that many more businesses will open in the near future and this will enhance the liveability of Cyberjaya at large.

We are excited for NSK hypermarket to become part of the community here in Cyberjaya. We believe with it’s location ideally situated at the centre of Cyberjaya, the thriving community of Cyberjaya will have their needs served.

Redtick Supermarket, Village Grocer, Jaya Grocer and now with NSK on board, folks in Cyberjaya and it’s surrounding township should have plenty of choice for grocery shopping. Another thing worth mentioning is Maju Expressway extension. The new MEX2 will definitely shorten the travel time to and from Cyberjaya and I see this as a surefire to increase the population growth of Cyberjaya.

As one of the premier cyber cities in the region, more than 700 companies, including over 30 multinational corporations, have chosen Cyberjaya as the preferred location to operate their businesses. With the current 16 established property developers vying to invest more than RM20bil in Cyberjaya by 2016, there will be more than 28,000 residential units with an expected population of 100,000 by then. The opening of Cyberjaya's first neighbourhood mall, D'Pulze Shopping Centre and IOI City Mall Putrajaya will serve as a catalyst to boost Cyberjaya to the next growth tier.
