I was recently invited to attend Setia Haruman’s first Walk-About event for the upcoming Centrus Shopping Mall which is located within the CBD Perdana 3 development. With just over 200,000 sft retail space, this mall has the potential to succeed if they are able to tackle youth, young adult and also family markets. If Centrus able to lure some big anchor tenants under its roof, it would definitely win the hearts of the Cyberjaya communities – and perhaps drive communities from Putrajaya as well.

Here’s are some sneak-peek images of the upcoming mall.

More information about Centrus Shopping Mall
Centrus Shopping Mall is the first shopping mall in Cyberjaya with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM1 billion. It is sited adjacent to CBD Perdana 1, CBD Perdana 2 and D’Pulze (which host Ascott Hotel and Tune Hotel).

Centrally located in the hub of Cyberjaya’s Central Business District (CBD), Centrus Shopping Mall is set to become a new landmark of Cyberjaya. The mall comprises of a 3-storey shopping plaza that will house a supermarket, a digital mall, a food court and an outdoor stage for showrooms, shows and other activities. Besides that, the top floor of the retail mall is planned to become an entertainment centre – called the Sky Pub Club.

Besides the mall, Centrus Shopping Mall will also feature 4 and 5-storey signature retail cum corporate office blocks, and three tower blocks of 12 to 24-storey that will feature SOHO with podium car parks. In terms of facilities, Centrus Shopping Mall will offer a total of 4,000 car parks. And together with its surrounding developments, there will be over 7,000 car parks in total.

The Potentials
The shopping mall is well-located near to residences, universities and business hubs. Within just a stone’s throw away from Centrus Shopping Mall, there are ELC International School, Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) and Multimedia University (MMU). It is not far away from the Lim Kok Wing University either.

As for residences, Centrus Shopping Mall is just a mere minutes’ drive from Serin Residency, Shaftsbury Square, Symphony Hills, Nadayu and Garden Residence. Most of these residences are currently under development, thus the addition of Centrus Shopping Mall will definitely become their only destination for leisure, entertainment and the place to find their needs.

As one of the premier cyber cities in the region, more than 700 companies, including over 30 multinational corporations, have chosen Cyberjaya as the preferred location to operate their businesses. With the current 16 established property developers vying to invest more than RM20bil in Cyberjaya by 2016, there will be more than 28,000 residential units with an expected population of 100,000 by then. The opening of Cyberjaya's first neighbourhood mall, D'Pulze Shopping Centre and IOI City Mall Putrajaya will serve as a catalyst to boost Cyberjaya to the next growth tier. Coupled with completion of various residential developments, Cyberjaya will see population expansion soon. Other catalysts would involve the upcoming Cyberjaya City Centre, Xiamen University Malaysia Campus, the Maju Expressway extension through Cyberjaya and the Sungai Buloh-Kajang-Putrajaya MRT 2 extension.
